Around this time of year, things start to get crazy, so I wanted to share some fun and easy speech therapy session plans with you to make things a little less hectic!
- Turkey Trouble by Wendi Silvano is the first in the series of these great books that your students will LOVE! You can easily use this book for the whole month, especially with this book companion.
2. How to Catch a Turkey from Adam Wallace is another book that your students will find hilarious as the kids in the school try to capture the loose turkey! Another winner with these book activities or making their own turkey mascot.
3. There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Turkey by Lucille Colandro is an oldie but goodie that features a Thanksgiving Day parade float. My kids loved feeding the old lady with this felt version, but I have a paper version here that you can use too!
4. This turkey can't decide who he wants to be, but your kids can help him figure it out with this WH questions Boom card deck that also helps with working on inferencing skills.
5. If you're short on time, check out this resource that has something for everyone on your caseload and nothing for you to prep! It also has a Google Slides version if you'd rather opt for no print or to use in teletherapy.
6. Super Turkey is one of my FAVORITE characters of all time and these articulation cards are sure to get your students motivated to practice their speech sounds, make sentences, or discuss vocabulary! You can even grab a free game here.
7. Open-ended games more your speed? Check out the November Toolkit with tons of fun turkey activities to get you through the month.
8. Crafts that incorporate vocabulary? Sign me up! You'll find a craft in this Thanksgiving vocabulary resource to build turkeys AND your students' word knowledge.
9. If you're looking for more simple crafts, check out this cute and easy turkey that you can make with some simple shapes…plus a few other ones you can incorporate this month.
10. Feed the turkey! Everyone loves a good feeding game and this one is no exception…grab the printout and instructions for free!
