I've been realllllly enjoying the weather lately…it's been 80 degrees and beautiful at my house! Of course, I need to have some new, springy activities for my students! We have been doing the garden theme and I decided we would make snails!
How fun is that?
You could use paper plates for the shells, but I didn't have enough for everyone, so I just used the paper plate as the pattern to cut out the circles. We used gray, but you could use any color you fancy.
I keep this tub of different color squares handy, which are perfect for these snails. I also used the for sea turtles, which you can see HERE.
They wrote their speech words on the squares and glued them on the shell. Perfect homework!
Of course, some of my friends weren't interested in snails and they made turtles instead. Which is fine. Creative control is in the hands of the kids in my room. 🙂
These went perfect with our book, There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Frog! I used my book companion and this craft to plan all of my sessions last week.
