Happy First Day of Fall! Around here, we don’t really get much a “real” autumn…it’s more like an extended summer 🙂 I don’t mind much… I like visiting the beautiful areas of the country where leaves and weather change, but I wouldn’t trade my beach for any of it! So, as we head into the first week of fall, I thought I would share a fall themed freebie with y’all as I try to get myself out of summer mode…
Acorn Categories! Included are 36 acorns, labeled on the top and listing 5 items in each category on the bottom. You can cut them apart to play a matching game or leave the tops on to review and brainstorm more! I tried to create two different levels…the first half are for the younger crowd and the second half are more geared towards your intermediate kids. I also tried to use more varied vocabulary…like for fruits, I used kiwi, papaya, mango, pineapple, and banana. This is great for exploring new words and creating opportunities for discussion!
You can download this freebie HERE! I hope you can use it! Leave me a comment if you grab it 🙂

This is wonderful! Love how you included Texas in the states. 😉 Thanks so much for posting this – you always have the cutest things. Have a great weekend!
I’m glad you like it! I love me some Texas…my best friend lives outside of Dallas 🙂 You’re welcome and thank you! You too!
Really cute! I have the acorns too but hadn’t figured out something to do with them yet!
Thanks! They are super cute!
Thank you! I’m so ready for fall and can’t wait to use them!
You’re welcome!
thanks!! very cute. I may use it as a contest: give each student a mini dry erase board and verbally tell them the category. see how many they can come up with, bonus points for students that match the items listed on the acorn!
I was thinking about something similar to that too! Great idea 🙂
This looks great!!! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks!
love this! thanks!
Thanks!
Love it, especially the higher level categories! Thanks for the freebie. Some other categories I find my students always confuse/struggle with are days of the week, holdiays, months, seasons, and time ( hours, minutes, seconds).
I actually remembered you saying that on my FB page! Thanks!
So excited to use these this season! 🙂 Thanks!
Yay! You’re welcome 🙂
