I’m back with more ideas for your language groups this week! In case you missed it yesterday, go check out what I did with my artic groups! So between my Pinterest finds and trolling TPT, I found TONS of freebie ideas with groundhog themes…check out some of the activities we are doing in my room…
First of all, we had to talk about shadows. What is a shadow, how do you make a shadow, and why in the world do people care about groundhog shadows in the first place. I broke out my little lamp and we made shadows puppets on the wall and talked about Mr. Punxsutawney Phil. SUPER FUN!
Next is an activity I did my kinders and firsties…”Groundhog, Groundhog, What do you see?” is a mini book that you can download HERE. It has fill-in-the-blanks and is really cute. They love having little books to take home to show mom & dad. I used it with this other freebie that is all about groundhog day from Growing Kinders…this is actually the second year I have used this booklet and it is a great resource!
Next up…groundhog story dice…what?! This is another great find from K. Ratliff….btw, make sure you follow her TPT store, she has some great stuff! We used these to work on sentences, narratives, and describing. They are awesome and FREE! Download it HERE.
Last, but not least, synonyms! This is a great find cause I always need to work on synonyms with someone and I love having lots of different games to address this skill. I downloaded from HERE and laminated, then we reviewed the vocab and played memory.
Remember that TPT sellers LOVE feedback, so if you grab any of these try to leave some 🙂
I hope these are some new finds you can use in your room! What else are you up to this week?
