I work on /s/ blends so much, I feel like I could recite all /s/ blends in existence. In my sleep.
Coming up with ways to keep my 4 year old friends entertained while working on these beasts is no easy feat…luckily, I found something that works really well. Nope, not a new idea or even that creative. But there is something about fish and magnets that makes every little PK I know go crazy! This was easy, ink friendly, and fun!
You can snag the directions and 42 little /s/ blend fish right here!

I love playing this S word Shout Out game. Each card has one match with every other card. The kids race to shout out their match. There’s lots of S blends included. It’s great for non-readers because of the images, but even my high schooler likes playing. It’s challenging for every age. https://www.etsy.com/listing/280306416/s-word-matching-shout-out-game-bundle-3

Wow!! Thanks Jenn!! I also have all the rest sounds on my caseload! Ugh… I tend to limit them to 2 years, especially if they cannot get the tongue placement down. The other thing I’m seeing a rise in is vowel sounds, especially sounds where tongue is raised. Seems that when kids are allowed to speak with pacifiers in their mouths, they have their tongues low at floor level at rest rather than being on the roof of the mouth at rest. So sounds with tongue tip elevation seems to be increasing. Thanks so much for sharing this terrific resource!!
Happy almost summer!!!

This is a really cute and simple activity! Thanks so much for sharing! I can’t wait to prep this next week! 😀
At the moment I’m seeing a lot of children who are fronting and using final consonant deletion. I also have a lot who present with atypical errors and are very disordered. Finding resources to keep everyone interested can be a challenge- I love TpT for helping me with this!

I am a grad school student and just began my school placement. I am going to add velcro pieces to each fish that way I can switch different sounds, blends, etc. Thank you so much! Love the idea!
