I always see these precious signs at craft stores that are kinda like family rules like this….
and I then I started seeing them for classrooms, which got my creative juices flowing. There was NO way I was going to pay for one, especially when I knew I could paint one myself. And so I did. Ha.
So to get started I gathered a canvas, pencil, and a level. Why a level, you ask? Oh, because I apparently don't have ANY rulers in my house. I purchased one the next day, cause that is just ridiculous. Anyways, I followed a tutorial I found on Pinterest HERE to draw the chevron pattern. Chevron, oh, more chevron. Were there really any doubts here peeps?
Then I painted it in with grey. I did two coats of this.
Then I started in on the words. I just did what felt good to me. I had to go over the words a few times. The project took a couple of days since I had to keep painting and letting it dry and painting more.
This was the final result (sorry the pic isn't the best!). I think it is adorable and I can't wait to get it on the wall in my classroom! And if your following me on Instagram, you already knew about this project…Just another reason to join IG 🙂
Just so happens that Jenna posted a similar FREE printable on SRN but hers has lots of speech & language lingo, you can find it HERE! Great minds think alike 🙂
