Are you looking for some quick, no prep winter speech therapy activities that you can use with your students TODAY? Here are 5 that I have used and loved!
- Simon's Cat Videos are short (and free) videos that are entertaining and fun for working on a variety of skills and there are a ton for winter! I have used them to work with students on narratives, story grammar, inferencing, perspective taking, and character feelings. Check out the videos here.
2. This short is called Under the Winter Sun and it uses stop motion animation, which I think is incredibly engaging! This story would be great for working on retelling, inferencing, and cause/effect. You could also pair this with “Sneezy the Snowman” to compare and contrast stories.
3. Speaking of Sneezy, I love using ebooks! Sneezy is usually available on Kindle Unlimited, but you can also find great e-books in plenty of other places. They work particularly well if you are a traveling or teletherapy SLP, but I used them while working in the schools quite a bit too!
4. Using Boom Cards in speech therapy has become such a popular option, but I especially love using them to make reading activities engaging. These nonfiction winter animal texts are great for working on comprehension, vocabulary, and describing (and they come in printable version too!).
5. Sometimes we just need to add a quick, reinforcing game to spice things up and these Google gameboards are the perfect solution! You can use these to work on any skill, just have your student practice, then take their turn to move along the board.
Those are 5 fun and easy digital activities you can use this winter! Which one is your favorite?
