If there is one thing I know about my PKs, it’s that they love trucks. Sometimes, Ms. Alcorn gets tired of making the car noise and running all over the room. Sometimes. For those days, I found this pin and I was like…um, helllllloooooo. I need this in my life. Just so happens that the previous SLP left me a big package of primary colored foam. It was meant to be. If you don’t have a foam stash, you could definitely do this with felt or even card stock!
So I cut out all kinds of shapes. You can probably tell from my awesome cutting that I did not use any sort of pattern. I don’t need no stinkin’ patterns. Just kidding. I do. But I’m usually in a hurry due to my nonexistent prep time, so I did it on the fly. Don’t be like Jenn. Cut pretty shapes without jagged edges… not that the little humans can tell difference 😉
Then, I dumped them all on the table and watched eyes pop and giggles ensue. We had a great time and the goals you can target are endless! We worked on shapes (duh!), colors, sizes, basic concepts, following directions, and comparing. All while my tough guys build garbage trucks and semis, and “the one that dumps the rocks”. Vocabulary lesson. Bam.
It was so easy. And quiet. And stationary.
You’re welcome. 🙂
